New Chilcote Culture Utilizes Lean
The new Chilcote Company Culture is to utilize Lean to achieve operational excellence and ESOP to assurer that both customer and employee reap the rewards.
Lean is an operational approach to eliminating waste through a process of continuous improvement in pursuit of perfection.
The fundamentals of Lean include:
1) 5S – workplace safety, order and cleanliness
2) JIT production (built to customers demand)
3) Six Sigma Quality
4) Empowered Teams
5) Visual Management
Lean concepts are not just for our manufacturing division but are starting to be applied in all aspects of our organization. This philosophy provides a systematic set of rules and fundamentals to maximize our effectiveness in creating value. It goes to our core values that our employees make the difference, and encourage and empower our workforce to make the most significant contributions
Three Employee Owners Promoted
Douglas P. Roof, Jr. has been promoted to Corporate Controller. Doug has been with Chilcote for 3 years as Assistant Controller and has been a key contributor in the accounting department and ERP implementation.
Mark S. Dehlinger has been promoted to Director of Sales Services. Mark has been with Chilcote for 16 years and has served as Corporate Inventory and Supply Chain Manager, Shipping and Warehouse Manager and most recently Distribution and Transportation Manager. Mark will be responsible for all sales services including customer service, shipping and inventory management.
Max G. Wallace has been promoted to Design/Engineering Department Manager. Max has been with Chilcote for 18 years and served in a variety of positions. Max will now be responsible for the entire design and product engineering functions.
The Chilcote Company, established in 1906, operates as the parent company for several
business, which offer a variety of products and services in professional, retail and promotional markets.

Since 1984, The Chilcote Company has been employee-owned, a factor that contributes in
large part to our success as a company, as well as to the company's ability to
attract exceptional employees.
The Chilcote Company maintains operations in several states and services customers nationwide. The company's
headquarters are located in Cleveland, Ohio, in a building that has been our home since the 1920's.
While expansions, acquisitions, and improvements have changed the face of The Chilcote Company over the
past hundred years, our growth has enabled us to unite the best traditions from our past with the advances
of today's technology, and to satisfy a diverse spectrum of customers.
